Becky and Mr. Hall at Churchill Downs

Green Hill Therapy has seen a lot of growth since founder Shirley Cochran, pediatric physical therapist and Becky Hall, physical therapy assistant started providing hippotherapy services with a few horses and volunteers in Shirley’s backyard around the year 2000.  Green Hill soon evolved into a sizable indoor arena and therapy clinic where Becky now serves as Clinical Manager.  Becky shares with us how hippotherapy combines the rhythmic movement of a horse with physical, occupational, or speech-language pathology clinical skill  to help kids improve neuromotor function, strength, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination, communication, and social skills.  She also describes how Green Hill provides innovative services by blending hippotherapy and aquatherapy sessions into varied therapy segments that allow children to maximize outcomes.  Come along for the ride as we learn more about the unique properties of the hippotherapy experience and the power of the animal-human connection.
