Annie May and Kenna Nelson may be taking some ingredients out of their allergen-free recipes, what they put back in is a whole lotta southern luuuuuuuv.  As business partners at the popular Annie May’s Sweet Cafe in Kentucky, they provide an ever-changing menu of gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free offerings to the entire midwest region and beyond.  In this episode, Annie describes how a childhood full of stomach aches and other symptoms led her to a gluten-free diet and a career change as she pursued the ideal texture of a gluten-free cupcake.  Kenna (who also has her own food allergies and adheres to a strict dairy-free diet) joined the ranks soon thereafter, mixing in her training as a pastry chef and passion for food science.  Join us for this practical yet fun conversation as we dive into what a typical gluten-free day looks like, how it changes your shopping list/ cooking/ restaurant options, why there are spider webs in our food, and what’s up with the nuts these days.  In segment two, Annie and Kenna put on their capes and tell us how they are Saving Thankgiving with a gluten- free stuffing recipe anyone can enjoy.
