Developing Courage is a podcast released twice a month and hosted by pediatric physical therapist Lauren Thomas, PT and pediatric occupational therapist Kara Vonderheide, OTR/L. Our mission is to explore problematic and typical development to promote intentional parenting and to provide support for courageous decision making.  We think everybody is on a journey toward more courageous living, and we’re here to help tell the story.

How the podcast is set up: Once a month, we’ll be exploring problematic development– that is, we’ll bring in a guest that helps us explore current events, strategies, or caregiver insights from the realm of special needs- weaving in parent stories and reflections or tips of the trade from therapists like us.  Also once a month, we’ll take a look at the positives of typical development, bringing in guests that help us explore what’s good for children and their positive growth in general.  From our home page, our podcasts will be funneled into one of these two categories so that whether you’re a new parent who wants ideas for your baby, or the parent of a child with special needs looking for information on a specific topic, you’ll be able to find what you need by clicking through to the archives of each category.
